Marc Webb Will Return to Direct The Amazing Spider-Man 3 !

Even while The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is still spinning a world-spanning web of promotion and marketing, hardcore fans are already eagerly awaiting the next step in Sony’s expansion of the Spider-Man movie verse.

Sony has confirmed that filmmaker Webb will helm a third film in the superhero series. A script has reportedly already been written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinker, and there are early plans to begin production on the picture this autumn with a scheduled UK release date of 27 May, 2016.

In Amazing Spider-Man 2, we will see Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) coming into his own as Spider-Man, until new and more dangerous super-powered foes like Electro (Jamie Foxx), Rhino (Paul Giamatti) and The Green Goblin (Dane DeHaan) start to merge from the labs of Oscorp, a corporation which may hold the secret to the fate of Peter’s missing parents. Beyond this chapter, we know that Oscorp will give rise to the new threats like the villain gang The Sinister Six – and most likely Venom as well – following in the tradition of the Ultimate Spider-Man comic book continuity.

As for Amazing Spider-Man 3 : we know that Chris Cooper’s Norman Osborn could have a much bigger presence (as a potential big bad version of Ultimate Green Goblin) and given what trailers and images have revealed about the second film, we could see the introduction of The Sinister Six, as well. After the third film both Webb and franchise star Andrew Garfield will have essentially fulfilled their obligations to get the Spidey Movie verse off the ground before spinoffs take over, so that could easily be the end of the line for one or both of them – though more likely Webb than Garfield.

Captain America : The Winter Soldier Final Cut - Marvel's Second Longest Movie

Considering directors Anthony and Joe Russo began editing as they were filming, and not to mention the positive word of mouth from test screening earlier this year, it’s safe to say Marvel Studios has had a decent rough cut of Captain America : The Winter Soldier for some time now. However, with the inclusion of January’s reshoots, we’ve now received official word from Stich Kingdom that a final cut of the Marvel sequel has been signed, sealed and delivered with a decent running time of 2 hours and 16 minutes (136 minutes). This makes the upcoming political thriller the longest “Phase Two” movie so far, and second-longest of all the Marvel Cinematic Universe ventures, following The Avengers (143 minutes). Anyhow, expect a Captain America : The Winter Soldier marketing push – clips, more posters and TV spots, talk show guest appearances, etc – as we move into March.



After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, “Captain America : The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D.  colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy – The Winter Soldier. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernandez with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America : The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studio’s President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Loius D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America : The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014.

Official Suits of Bat-Man and Wonder Woman to be Revealed Soon

So far, there’s been more rumor than fact surrounding the Man of Steel sequel, most commonly referred to as Batman vs. Superman. And one of the most talked about rumors so far is one of the most integral elements of any Batman film : The Batsuit.

To put it simply, there has been a lot of discussion about what Ben Affleck’s Batman is going to wear. Some rumors hint of a design resembling a look from the comics, like in Batman : Noel. Others suggest there will actually be two Batsuits. Kevin Smith has seen it and loved it. In fact, it was his gushing about the new Batsuit that prompted us to discuss five designs we’d like to see in Batman vs. Superman.

Very soon, though, we won’t be able to speculate about Affleck’s batduds. At least according to Forbes film blogger and Batman On Film’s Mark Hughes, who tweeted that he believes the Batsuit reveal will happen next month.



Initially, Hughes was convinced the reveal of Affleck’s Batsuit, as well as an official look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, would happen any day. But he’s since changed his story, citing the film’s production being delayed as reason for the hold up. Now the reveal, which will supposedly happen via magazine covers, is expected either the first or second week of March. Hughes also said that the photos will come from official shoots, not fancy photoshop jobs.

While there isn’t anything concrete to back this rumor up, it’s not entirely out of the question for a costume reveal to be timed around the start of filming. Given how passionate everyone is about the look of the Batsuit, fans will be especially critical of the final design for Batman vs. Superman. Snyder will want to give the new design its best chance with a professional reveal, not some blurry, pixilated, leaked photo from the set.

Though if you’ll recall, the first image of Henry Cavill’s Superman was not universally loved – and that was an official photo! The washed out and shadowy image did nothing to help what, in the end, was a muted color scheme for the costume. Then again, Batman is by nature a more showdowy figure than Superman, so his costume will likely be better served by a dark and moody first image.

And what of Gadot’s Wonder Woman? It was only a few days ago she shared a photo of her biceps from her Wonder Woman workouts. Would she really be at full Wonder Woman fighting shape already? We’ll have to wait and see what March brings.

Marvel’s Phase 3 Movies Revealed with ‘Avengers 3’ and More

Marvel Studios is currently in the midst of Phase Two of its Marvel Cinematic Universe, which contains the film Iron Man 3, Thor : The Dark World, Captain America : The Winter Soldier, Guardians of The Galaxy and The Avengers : Age of Ultron. But many comic book movie fans cannot get enough and have turned their eager eyes to Phase Three and the movie it might contain.

A new report from Schomes Know claims to know what’s on the docket for Phase Three, which begins after The Avengers 2. Rumors have included a sequel to Guardians of The Galaxy, a Black Widow solo movie, a Dr. Strange movie, Captain America 3, Thor 3 and Iron Man 4. So far, the only confirmed movie is Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man in 2015.

The report, a source named Victor Jones, notes the following, “I can confirm that as of the end of January, Marvel had no plans to make a Guardian 2. Marvel was planning on Guardians being a one and done. So unless they have done a compete 180 in the last couple weeks, I very much doubt there will be a Guardians 2… They only have so many films they can do each year and they don’t want them all to be trilogies to where they are just dealing with the same handful of characters for the next 5-10 years.”

So which movies are in Phase 3, according to the report?

“ The movies that will be part of Phase III for absolutecertain are : Ant-Man, Captain America 3, Thor 3, The Avengers 3 and Dr. Strange.”

The source notes that Marvel Studios President of Production, Kevin Feige “has pretty much confirmed Dr. Strange for some time now. They really wanted it to be a part ofPhase 2 at one point, but like Ant-Man that just didn’t happen. That’s probably the one that Feige is personally rooting for the most and as a result it is the solo film that is the highest priority other than the sequels.”

Finally, the report turned to some lesser-known characters in the Marvel Universe. “There has been talk about Black Panther and lots of talk about The Inhumans, they’re in the pipeline but are pretty much in the same boat that Dr. Strange and Ant-Man were in two years ago, where they want them to happen, and they will most likely both happen, but it’s just a question of how soon. However, those five films (Ant-Man, Cap 3, Thor 3, Dr Strange & Avengers 3) are sure things and I can guarantee you they will all be announced at Comic Con if not sooner.”

Marvel Confirms the Development of A Solo Black Widow Movie

Outside of a few supporting roles for women here and there, the comic book movie genre has been a complete boys club since its inception. In fact, blockbuster movies in general treat women more like plot devices to make male characters more heroic, rather than writing their roles with respect and creativity.
During the press tour for Thor 2, Feige’s comments were “I’m not sure when that will be” and “we’ll see what happens.” Not exactly ringing endorsement for a female-led Marvel movie. Apparently, things have changed over the past few months and now Feige, when asked specifically about Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, said that they are actively developing her own solo movie. Feige was speaking to Total Film about Captain America 2 and how that film gives us Black Widow’s biggest role yet and how the upcoming Avengers 2 will give us details about her past. He then added –
“We learn more about her past and learn more about where she came from and how she became in that film. The notion of exploring that even further in her own film would be great, and we have some development work with that.”
Obviously Marvel has a ton of projects in development, and it’s possible that a Black Widow movie will never move beyond that point. However, with Warner Bros, looking to turn Gal Gadot into a solo star as Wonder Woman eventually, maybe the House of Ideas is looking to be the first out of the box with a female superhero movie.
Until then, fans can look forward to seeing more of the Black Widow the Captain America : The Winter Soldier hits theaters on April 4.
